We’re so excited to welcome you to Hood River! There’s something incredibly special about this little place along the Gorge, and we’re so happy to be celebrating here with you. We hope you’ll have some time to explore and enjoy it while you’re here.

We’ve gathered a few travel notes and places to stay below to make planning your trip a little easier.

Getting to Hood River:

For those flying in, we recommend Portland International Airport (PDX). From there, you’ll drive roughly one hour east alongside the stunning Columbia River Gorge to reach Hood River.

We recommend renting a car or carpooling with other guests for the most flexibility during your stay. Rental cars are available at PDX.

A Note About Getting Around :

Uber and Lyft are not available in Hood River, so we recommend planning transportation in advance. If you’d rather not rent a car, local transportation options include:

Gorge PDX Shuttle
Door-to-door airport transfers between PDX and Hood River.

Gorge Taxi
Airport transfers and local taxi service throughout the area.

We recommend reserving transportation in advance.

Where to Stay?

Hood River has so many charming places to stay, but we’ve narrowed it down to four options we think offer a nice mix of location, atmosphere, amenities, and price points.

Planning your stay: If your schedule allows, we recommend planning your trip for July 5–9 so you have plenty of time to settle in, celebrate with us, and enjoy the area.

One little booking note: Hotels release rooms on different schedules, so don’t worry if availability for our dates isn’t showing online just yet. If you have your heart set on a particular hotel, we recommend giving them a call to check when rooms will become available.

Lightwell Hotel & Spa

Downtown Hood River · Boutique & Spa

A boutique hotel right in the heart of downtown. Lightwell is a lovely choice if you want to be able to step outside and explore Hood River’s restaurants, shops, cafés, and tasting rooms on foot. The hotel also has its own café, rooftop and lobby bars, and a spa with a warm soaking pool and sauna for overnight guests.

Rooms are primarily designed for singles or couples.

Hampton Inn & Suites Hood River

Near Downtown & the Waterfront · Great Value

A comfortable and convenient option located along the waterfront, just a short walk from downtown. The Hampton has an indoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, complimentary breakfast, and a variety of rooms and suites—including options with two queen beds.

The link below includes a special discounted rate for our guests.

Best Western Plus Hood River Inn

On the Columbia River · Resort Amenities

For beautiful river views and more of a resort feel, the Hood River Inn sits directly along the Columbia. It has an on-site waterfront restaurant, heated outdoor pool, hot tubs, sauna, fitness center, and a variety of room types—including river-view options.

Downtown is just a few minutes away by car.

Westcliff Lodge

West Hood River · Spacious & Scenic

A peaceful retreat perched above the Columbia River Gorge, Westcliff combines beautiful surroundings with some of the roomiest accommodations among our suggestions. Two-queen rooms, select suites, and rooms with kitchenettes offer plenty of space at a great value.

Located just down the road from The Griffin House, it’s also our closest hotel to the wedding venue. We recommend using our wedding-day transportation rather than walking and having a car for trips into downtown Hood River.

A Few More Places to Call Home

For families and groups traveling together, Hood River and the surrounding area also have plenty of vacation rentals through Airbnb and Vrbo. A house can be a wonderful option if you’d like a little more room to spread out or plan to share accommodations with friends or family.

If you’re considering a vacation rental, we recommend booking early, as summer availability can fill quickly.

We’ll share more details about transportation to and from The Griffin House as we get closer to the celebration.
For now, the most important thing is to get yourselves to Hood River—we can’t wait to have you here!
